It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Derry J. Weaver, age 72, on August 23, 2013 in Grand Forks, BC. Derry was born in Raymond, Alberta, and was the son of Sydney Jim Weaver and Ethel Bernyse Weaver. Derry is survived by his daughter Shelli Auclair, sons Jason Yunker and Nicholas Yunker, sisters Sidnie May and Lauryl McMullin, and brother Jay Weaver. Derry was pre-deceased by his brother Bruce Weaver.

Derry had a long and successful career in music. He was an exceptionally gifted and talented guitarist and singer, as well as being very involved in the recording industry his entire life. Some of his best known works were “Moon Dawg” when he was with The Gamblers and “Alley-Oop” when he was with The Hollywood Argyles. His dearest and closest friends in his life shared his love of music.

Derry was a very spiritual person who always kept God close to his heart. He studied the Bible with great wonder, always seeking a deeper knowledge and enlightenment. We know Derry is at peace with God now.
