Dennine Smith passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Grand Forks, B.C. surrounded by her family and friends, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Dennine Perry, in Burnaby B.C. in 1971 to her parents Helen and Phil Perry. The family moved back to Grand Forks a few years later, where Dennine attended school and graduated from Grand Forks Secondary School in June 1989. She married the love of her life, Bob Smith in June 1992 after which the couple moved to Kelowna, B.C. where Dennine earned a degree in Early Childhood Education and began her career at a local daycare.

In 1995, she gave birth to the couple’s first child Jessica and shortly after that the family moved back to Grand Forks. Dennine then begun work at Little People’s Centre and in 1999 gave birth to their second child Justin. Dennine then began working at local elementary and high schools throughout the Boundary, where she touched the lives of so many. She saw the children she worked with as her own, and treated her co-workers like family. Dennine leaves behind her parents, Helen and Phil Perry, her younger brother Duane Perry, her husband, Bob Smith, and her children Jessica and Justin, along with a numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her service was held Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Gospel Chapel in Grand Forks and was laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral arrangements had been entrusted to the Baker Family of Grand Forks Funeral Home gffh@shaw.ca.
