David Marcel Lajoie
1967 - 2015
David Marcel Lajoie passed away December 17, 2015 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Dave was born in St. Paul, Alberta in 1967 and grew up on the family farm. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Dave was employed as a pharmacist in St. Albert, AB and Thunderbay, ON. In 1998 Dave and his wife, Carol, started their own business, the Value Drug Mart in Grand Forks, BC.
Dave was a loving father who never hesitated to do whatever needed to be done with the kids. He was passionate about playing sports, in particular; golfing, downhill skiing, curling and working out at the gym. He was able to fix anything and had an incredible ability to solve computer issues. His home on the Granby River in Grand Forks provided a great place to relax and play with his children.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Carol, his son, Vincent, and his daughter, Renee, of Edmonton, his mother Rose Marie Lajoie, brothers Robert (Annette) and Michel (Rachelle) all of St. Paul, AB, brother Pierre (Leanne) and sister Christine (Kevin) from Sherwood Park, AB, his in laws, Don and Jean MacDonald of Grand Forks, brother-in-laws Doug MacDonald (Jill) of Strathmore, AB, and Greg MacDonald (Jennifer) of Rock Creek, B.C. and many nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his father, George Lajoie in 2014.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 St., Edmonton, on December 23, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on December 23, 2015, at the Rosehill Cemetery, 1605-141 St. SW, Edmonton. A Celebration of Life will be held in Grand Forks, B.C. early in the New Year with the date and place to be announced later. Dave has requested that family and friends donate blood in his memory.
