David Engels
1940 – 2016
After a lengthy illness, Dave slipped away peacefully in the early morning (his favorite time) October, 22 in Grand Forks, B.C.
He is survived by wife, Linda; daughters Shelley, Dawn and Laura; and so many beloved family members.
Dave was all about family and he continued to gather new members to him throughout his life. During his last months his ever expanding family included the wonderful staff and the other residents at Hardy View Lodge in Grand Forks.
Dave moved through life motivated by family, friends, faith and fairness. He will be sorely missed but forever celebrated by all who loved him.
The family respectfully requests no flowers. Anyone wishing to make a gesture of remembrance is encouraged to support a charity of their own choice.
Dave always supported his home church, the Gospel Chapel; Pines Bible Camp and organizations active in refugee relief. His expressed concern was that children be able to survive and thrive in safety.
A memorial service will take place at the Gospel Chapel in Grand Forks Thursday, November 3, at 2 p.m. Arrangements through the Memorial Society of BC. Cremation has taken place.
