Christine Parakin
March 13, 1956 – May 5, 2016
Christine Parakin, our mother and dear friend to many, left us on May 5, 2016 due to complications from a stroke.
Christine is survived by her sons, Nicholas (Bianca), Michael, her sister Katie Steinbach (nee Parakin), her beautiful granddaughter Jayda Davis (daughter to Michael), many nieces and nephews and many friends that loved her dearly.
She is predeceased by her parents Alex and Myrna Parakin (nee Plotnikoff), her sister Margie Smallbones (nee Parakin) and her infant brother Michael.
Christine was born March 13, 1956 in Grand Forks, B.C. to Myrna and Alex Parakin. She had a love of gardening and floral arranging and other hobbies that she excelled at. Christine touched many people’s lives profoundly whether it was at the thrift shop, where she volunteered tirelessly or at her A.A. meetings where she recently celebrated seven years of sobriety which her family was extremely proud of. Christine had a beautiful smile that lit up everyone who met and knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyones lives she touched. R.I.P. mom.
