It is with sadness that the family of Christina Medvedeff of Grand Forks announce her peaceful passing at Hardy View Lodge at the age of 100.
Christina was born in Veregin, Saskatchewan to parents Fred and Mary Perepolkin. She and her family moved to Grand Forks in 1936. Here she met Fred Medvedeff and they married in 1943. Christina and Fred raised their children, Paul and Lorraine, in Grand Forks.
Christina was a life long active member of the Union of Spiritual Community of Christ. Christina was gifted with an excellent voice and a love of singing. She was a member of various choirs.
Christina served on many committees within the community and was also active with the USCC Ladies Organizations.
Christina was predeceased by her husband, Fred, brothers, Bill and Nick and sister Molly.
Christina is survived by her son Paul (Jill), daughter Lorraine (Steve), grandsons Greg (Cassie), Michael (Alicia) and great grand daughter Josey. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A Traditional Doukhobor Funeral was held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the USCC Hall with burial at the Sion Cemetery.
May her soul receive eternal consciousness in the Kingdom of Heaven.
