In Loving Memory ~

The family of Carol McGowan sadly wishes to announce her peaceful passing on September 27th. Mom had loved ones at her side. Mom was born in Saskatchewan in January 1941.

Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Bill, infant son Darren and 5 siblings.

Mom is survived by her daughter Sandi (Randy) Gniewotta, her son Brian (Cindy) McGowan, 1 brother Skip (Deb) Strasser. 4 Grandchildren, Ryan (Kate), Tyler (Natalie), Ashley, Chad (Dawnya) McGowan. 7 Great Grandchildren, Una, Florence, Willow, Quinn, Morris, Idris and Bonnie. Also by her special friend Reg.

Mom and Dad spent most of their lives together in Saskatoon until they moved to Kelowna and then to Christina Lake BC for retirement.

Mom and Dad always had a lot of friends and active social lives wherever they lived and they loved living at Christina Lake.

Mom practiced as a Psychiatric RN for many years , always enjoying her career especially caring for patients with dementia later in her nursing.

Mom enjoyed golfing, curling, restoring antique furniture, baking, playing bridge, gardening and held many volunteer positions.

After dad passed, Mom moved to Kelowna and then back to Grand Forks 1 year ago. Mom resided in Ivy House her last year where she received excellent care and grew fond of other residents and staff.

We would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Ivy House and Dr Carroll.

As per Moms wishes, there will be no service. Mom will be cremated and laid to rest beside Dad.

Rest In Peace Mom, we love you.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ivy House in Grand Forks BC. Please E-transfer Sandi at sandirn@shaw.ca and the donations will be channelled to resident care comfort items.
