Our beloved Carol passed peacefully with family and friends at her side in the Grand Forks hospital at the age of 94.
Carol was born in Salt Lake City, the third of eleven children, to a large and loving family. She fell in love with Gene Mooney and they married September 24, 1945. They had five children; three born in the United States and two in Canada. Gene and Carol raised their family on isolated cattle ranches in the interior of B.C. They moved to Grand Forks in 1994.
Carol was predeceased by her son Denny in 2006 and by Gene in 2007. She is lovingly remembered by two brothers, Allen and Mickey (Lorraine); her sister Sharren; four children, Monty (Joannie), Paddy, George, and Kathleen; Denny's wife Laraine; six grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our mom and grandma was a beautiful example of a loving and selfless life. Her family and friends were the most important things to her, and she always got so much pleasure being with those nearest and dearest to her. She was always happiest when helping others.
There are far too many people to name but the family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the wonderful and caring friends that have shown so much love and support to Carol. In the words of our mom - we can never express how much we have appreciated all that you have done.
