BRUCE ALLAN MURRAY

March 28, 2013

September 30, 1940 - March 28, 2013

Bruce Murray, age 72, passed away peacefully in Grand Forks, B.C. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30+ years Faye, children Tammy, Pennie, Corrie, Todd, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Bruce was predeceased by his son Calvin, and his children’s mother Patricia.

Bruce loved all things aviation: he loved bird watching and hunting, loved to build and fly model planes, and obtained his pilot’s licence in his teens. The responsibility of a young family made it impossible to pursue a flying career, so he poured his passion into volunteering at the Calgary Aerospace Museum. A proud moment for Bruce was being part of a team that won a Golden Globe Award for his work building the model Avro for the CBC movie The Arrow. After moving to Grand Forks, Bruce made many good friends who truly contributed to his happiness.

Memorial services will be held in Grand Forks, B.C. on April 22, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Gospel Chapel, 7048 Donaldson Drive. A reception will follow. A second memorial is planned for April 24, 2013 in Calgary at Rosscarrock Church of Christ, 1140 40 St SW at 1 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Aerospace Museum in Calgary.
