Brian “Gilly” Gillmor died suddenly at the age of 66 on November 19, 2015. He will be sorely missed. Gilly was loyal, kind, strong, and a man of few words. When he loved you, he loved you hard. Gilly’s mechanical skills were legendary and nothing he couldn’t fix. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his daughters Deborah and Robin, his son Adam, daughter-in-law Holly and grandson Phoenix.

Gilly grew up in Seattle, WA. As a member of Seattle Chapter DeMolay, when he assumed the Master Counselor position, Nancy was voted his Chapter Sweetheart. He and Nancy married and moved to Grand Forks in 1973 to design and build their one-of-a-kind home with the help of many good friends. Gilly was a member of Phoenix Mountain Ski Society for many years and was known for his love of telemark skiing and epic wipeouts. He worked for Greenpeaks Holdings as a silviculture supervisor and became a treasured member of the family and a mentor to many.

When he retired ten years ago he delved into his lifetime loves of photography and golf. He indulged the resident birds and squirrels in their peanut addictions. In the summer he and Nancy went on trips to watch the Spokane Indians baseball team and take pictures of Stubbs the donkey for annual albums.

“Gilly’s Gathering” was held on Friday, November 27, 2015 to celebrate this life. Flowers are always welcome. Donations can be made in Brian’s name to a charity of your choice. Thank you for your outpouring of Love & Support in this Gillmor family time of shock and bereavement.
