In Loving Memory ~
Brenda, born October 31st, 1958 in Vancouver BC to parents Dennis and Mary Brown; passed away September 7th, 2022 in the Trail hospital surrounded by her close family.
She is survived by her husband Brent of 37 years, son Colin, grand-daughter Violet, sister Mavis McCluskey, nephews Shawn and Ryan McCluskey, sister-in-law Donna Brown and nephews Chris and Jeff Brown.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her brother Bruce Brown in April 2018.
Brenda grew up in south Vancouver, attended and graduated from David Thompson Secondary, after school she waitressed at the White Spot for a time, then worked for Finning Tractor in the early 80's, after which she started a long rewarding career selling commercial printing for several Vancouver companies.
Brenda and Brent were married August 31st, 1985, in a backyard ceremony full of family and friends, where at some point, she ended up in the swimming pool (not her choice), years later, on November 1st, 1990, they were blessed with the birth of their son Colin.
Brenda and her family lived in North Vancouver for many years raising their son and making many lifelong friends.
In May of 2015, she and Brent retired to Grand Forks BC. where she became an avid quilter, belonging to and making many friends in quilting guilds in both Canada and the US. Brenda was a caring, loving and giving person who volunteered in her community with the Fall Fair, COVID vaccination clinic and the Boundary Helping Hands Feline Rescue Society to name a few.
Brenda was only 63 when she passed which has deeply saddened us all. She asked that there be no service and that she be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Anyone wishing to donate in her name can do so to the Boundary Feline Rescue, BC Cancer Society or the KBRH Health Foundation in Trail.
We would like to thank all the health care professionals at BC Cancer- Kelowna, Boundary hospital in Grand Forks and the KBRH hospital in Trail for all their efforts, and caring support through Brenda's battle with cancer.
Brenda's family would like to invite friends to join them for an afternoon of informal visiting at 317 Market Ave Grand Forks.
Please join us for coffee, tea and snacks on Saturday October 22, 2022 at 2 pm.
