Blake Elliott Frisby was born in Vancouver, BC, on March 27, 1937 and passed away in West Kelowna, BC, on Tuesday, July 14th, 2020.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Daem (Ted), daughter Lerae Gidyk (Brian), sons Michael and Tom (Ruth); his eight grandchildren, Shale, Erik, Faith, Reid, Hunter, Kaitlyn, Gareth and Sam; and many more extended family members.
Blake attended Lord Byng High School where he was active in track, rugby and student counsel.
As a young man he revelled in his summer jobs as a fishing boat cook and surveyor. Blake earned a B.Ed and MBA from UBC. Blake's first job was teaching at Burnaby South High School. He later held management roles at BCIT, University of Calgary, and Selkirk College. He returned to teaching to end his career in Grand Forks, BC. After retiring to his summer home on the North Shuswap, Blake continued to devote more time to his pruning and landscaping hobbies.
The family wishes to thank Terry Sankey; Blake's lifelong friend and constant companion over the last several years and the nurses and care providers at The Village at Smith Creek.
