It is with great sadness that the family of Beverly Porter announce her passing. Beverly passed away peacefully after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her previous husband, Brian Porter, her father, David Glenn and her mother Alice. She leaves behind her husband Bill Zarubin, brother James Glenn (Cheryl) from Duncan, sister, Sharon Powell (Dan) from Port Alberni, nieces Kathleen Glenn (Doug) from Duncan, Jenn Giles (Tyler) also from Duncan and her very special longtime friend Doreen Kirpatrick from Youbou, BC. Beverly was born in Duncan, and moved to Grand Forks in the early 80’s. Soon after, she started what turned out to be a very long career working at City Hall. She very much enjoyed her work, her co-workers and serving the people of Grand Forks. Although, a private person she was a loyal and good friend to many. Beverly was also an active member of St. John’s United Church and volunteered for many local charities. Her family is very grateful and thanks all of the staff at Boundary Hospital for the excellent care they provided. A celebration of life will be held in the spring when flowers start to bloom. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to St. John’s United Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Deborah Baker of Grand Forks Funeral Home, at gffh@shaw.ca.
