Betty passed away peacefully with her family by her side onMarch 16, 2018. Betty was predeceased by her Parents.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ron Maximenko; daughter, Tara Brown (Ryan Irwin), grandchildren, Emma and Zoey Irwin of Christina Lake; son, James Brown of Kelowna; daughter Billie Gaspare, granddaughter, Lorah and great-grandchildren, Stella and Thor; grandsons Jessy and great grandchildren Aaron and Anabella; and grandson, Hayden; son, Dustin Gaspare, and grandson,Tyler; sister, Sandra Martin of Christina Lake; stepchildren Dawn Maximenko and grandson Colton; Fainya Maximenko (Chris Switzer) and grandchildren Kayla and Taylor, all of Grand Forks; and Bailey, her dog,as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty was born in Trail in 1950 to Frances and Sandy Martin of Trail. She attended school in Trail and loved horses, dogs, artwork and skiing, not necessarily in that order.
She worked in law offices for many years, both in Trail and Grand Forks. She moved to Christina Lake in 1987 where Tara and James attended school. More recently, she worked at Durand's Nursery and Lakeside General Store. And she continued with her artwork.
Betty will be missed by all who knew her for her gentle, quiet personality and kindness.
There will be a family service held later in the summer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Campbell and the Grand Forks Hospital staff for their kindness.
