Arlene Leona Grant died peacefully on September 30, 2011, in her 85th year, with her son Blair by her side. She is also mourned by Brian (Dianne) and Paul (Laurie), and by the far-flung Felske and Grant families and Arlene’s many friends.

Arlene was born into a large Saskatchewan farming family. After serving in the RCAF, she settled in Vancouver with her husband, Franklin Wallis (Wally) Grant in 1956 to raise their family. She worked with Mills Printing for many years. In 1974, she and Wally moved to Grand Forks to be closer to their grown sons and their young families. Arlene worked at the Grand Forks City Hall until she retired in 1992. Wally died two years later.

Arlene will be remembered as a good wife and mother, a cheerful and intelligent co-worker and a friend always willing to lend a hand or an ear. She loved animals, and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to any animal welfare organization. At Arlene’s request, there will be no service. Grand Forks Funeral Home had care of arrangements.
