Annie, "Beatrice" Barnhill (Luther, Chapman) Born in Regina, SK on April 4th, 1921.
Only child of Ross and Lena Barnhill. Spent childhood on the family farm in Aylesbury, SK Received her Teaching Certificate in 1940 and especially spoke especially fondly of her years spent as a Special Education teacher in Moose Jaw, SK While living in Moose Jaw, SK she had three children, Sharon, Faye and Grant with her then husband Jim Luther.
After a divorce Bea travelled west to Burnaby, B.C where she taught Special Education classes at Capital Hill School. There she met and married George Chapman on July 30, 1971 first joining him at his home on Galiano Island. Together they renovated and sold several homes in the lower mainland of BC until they had saved enough to make the move to the BC Interior. In March 1981 they bought a home in Greenwood, BC where they retired.
Bea and George travelled to both Nova Scotia and Great Britain and met several friends on those trips. Bea was treasured by her many friends both near and far. Her faith in Christianity carried her through life with grace and compassion.
When George passed, Bea sold their house and moved into an apartment then later into the Abbyfield Retirement home in Grand Forks. Bea passed away peacefully at the age of 98 with her daughter Faye at her side on May 6, 2019 in her room in Hardyview Lodge.
Bea is survived by her three children, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Bea's funeral was held at Greenwood Evangel Chapel at 11 am on May 13, 2019 followed by Interment at the Greenwood Cemetery.
