Anne was born on August 5, 1929, at Nelson B.C., the youngest child of William and Mary Soukoroff. She grew up and received her schooling in Nelson. She left school after the sixth grade to work with her mother as a chambermaid.

The family moved to Grand Forks where Anne worked in the potato factory and the box factory at Grand Forks Sawmill. Anne often spoke of moving to Grand Forks and the time she spent visiting her grandparents at the village. She went many places with her grandparents acting as their translator.

Anne met Peter Ogloff, and they were married on May 11, 1952. Anne and Peter participated in the Grand Forks Friendship Choir and were lifelong members of the U.S.C.C.

Anne loved to garden. She spent many hours tending her plants, and she provided her family with vegetables for many years. When not in her garden Anne was the organizer of their business. She took many phone calls throughout the day from people all over the valley asking for their gardens to be ploughed or their fields to be harvested. Anne’s education was ongoing as she read many books in English and in Russian. Anne listened to the C.B.C radio daily, and enjoyed discussing the many topics that caught her attention. She was very inquisitive and knowledgeable about health, gardening and current events.

Anne was predeceased by her mother in 1981, father in 1991, brother Nick in 1999 and husband Peter in 2006. She is survived by two sons, Larry (Jacky) and Mike (Marita); two grandsons, Brian (Misty) and Daniel (Tanya); and two great-grandchildren, Tessa and Lucas.

Anne passed away on July 8, 2012, in Annesley Manor of Hardy View Lodge at Grand Forks.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Annesley Manor and the home help workers for their wonderful care of our mother and grandmother. Thank you to the U.S.C.C ladies cooking group, the grave diggers, the singers and a special thank you to Jerry Seminoff for his wise words and understanding. A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 12, 2012, in the Chapel of the Grand Forks Funeral Home with burial following in the USCC Sion Cemetery at Grand Forks, B.C. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Everett Baker of Grand Forks Funeral Home.
