It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Makortoff announces her passing on July 13th, 2018. She passed away suddenly, while doing what she loved to do...gardening.
Anne was born in Grand Forks to Nick and Anna (Savinkoff) Makortoff. She was well known in the community from her many years as a cashier at the Overwaitea and her participation in the USCC community, the Boundary Museum and at other historical events.
Anne is survived by her sister Olga Lebedoff, niece April Lebedoff (fiance Steve), nephew Jeff Lebedoff (wife Olja), grandniece Ariana Lebedoff, nephew Mark Lebedoff (partner Gaia), grandniece Thandie Lebedoff, step-grandnephew Kyle Howe, nephew Jack Chernoff (wife Donna), grandnieces Larissa Chernoff, Manya Chernoff, nephew Willie Chernoff, nephew Ken Chernoff (finance Diane), step-grandnieces Kayla & Tawny, nephew Larry Makortoff (wife Andrea), grandnephew Nicholas Makortoff & grandniece Richelle Makortoff.
She was predeceased by father Nick Makortoff, mother Anna Makortoff, brother-in-law Willie Chernoff, brother Nick Makortoff, brother-in-law Dann Lebedoff and sister Helen Chernoff.
The family would like to thank neighbours Jenna Buschen and Coady Walt, who came so quickly to Anne's aid, Cinda Clarke for being there, the Ambulance Services, and the doctors & nurses who attended at the hospital.
A funeral Services was held at the USCC Centre on July 21, 2018. Burial took place at the Sion Cemetery.
