In Loving Memory ~

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Anna Konken, on February 26, 2024, at the age of 79. She was a lifelong resident of Grand Forks.

Anna was the third of 7 daughters born to Ignace and Annie Makaeff. She grew up in the family home near Cooper bridge and later on the farm in Almond Gardens. Anna had fond memories of her childhood helping with farm chores and playing with her sisters and friends.

Anna is survived by her loving children Shelly, Jason and Jordon as well as grandchildren Kristen, Steven, Taylor, Hope, Jasmine, Michael, Levi and Kali as well as great grandchildren Brooklyn, Hadley and Isaac and Sayla, her sisters Judi Pritchard and June Whachell and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband Jack Konken and beloved son Jack Jr., and sisters Dawn and Linda, Mary Persoff and Vi Plotnikoff.

A Traditional Doukhobor Prayer Service will be held at the Grand Forks Community Centre on Saturday, March 9th at 10:00 am with interment at Sion cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Centre.
