It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Alice May Latreille fondly known as Mom, Nan and GG Nan. Nan passed away peacefully at the Hardy View Sunshine Manor on March 21, 2012, at the age of 95, just shortly before her 96th birthday.

She was born and raised at Kerr Creek near Midway. She started school in the little old school house just below the Graser (now Lee) farm at Kerr Creek. The school is now a house in Greenwood. From there, many years were spent riding horseback with her brothers, sister and the Horovatin brothers to school at Boundary Falls.

At Grandma and Grandpa Grasers’ fox farm at Kerr Creek she met Harold Latreille and they were married in Spokane. They had two children, Herb and Myrtle. Her husband and son both predeceased her.

They spent time working at Ingram Creek, Copper Mountain, Princeton, Merritt and the Okanagan. Most of her life was spent raising her family at Greenwood. Nan enjoyed playing bingo and crib, and especially camping and picking huckleberries, gardening and dancing. She was a great cook, always baking treats for everyone, especially donuts and chocolate cake for Dean. Her most precious moments were spent with her family, especially the grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Alice was predeceased by two brothers, Ted Bauer and Bud Pasco. She is survived by her sister, Cecilia Kincaid; brothers, Junior and Jim Pasco and families; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She had five generations in three ways, which she was very proud of.

A special “Thank you” to all the staff at the Hardy View Sunshine Manor who took such good care of Nan while she lived there. We also extend our appreciation and thanks to all the staff at Parkview Manor in Midway where she enjoyed living.

Family values, cheerfulness and molding our lives was your greatness!

You touched the hearts of everyone who knew you. We will miss you dearly, Mom, Nan and GG Nan. Cremation Services entrusted to The Baker family of Grand Forks Funeral Home.
