Mae was born Almina Mae Webster on May 9, 1937 in Nakusp, B.C. on Mother’s Day; she passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Boundary Hospital. She was the fourth child of Alexander Carlton Webster and Rozella ne Sims. Mae has an older brother Thomas Webster, two older sisters Gloria Jackson and Jo Bailey and a younger sister Lucy Bates. Her family moved from Nakusp to Shaver’s Bench (a subdivision of Trail, B.C.) and then to Fruitvale during her school years. She left school after eighth grade and worked at Hope’s Bakery in Trail until she married. She also lived in Trail and Saskatchewan after she married. She divorced her husband and took the girls back to Fruitvale. Her dad helped her build a small house for them to live in. She moved from there with her four daughters and lived in Kelowna, Creston and then to Grand Forks. She completed her Grade 12 in Grand Forks through public shcool, which we were all very proud of. She bought a house on the Grandby River 35 years ago and spent many of those years working at transforming it from a shack to a comfortable home. Most of her children and grandchildren live nearby which has been a great comfort to her.

She is survived by her four siblings, four daughters, Shannon Jo Gauthier, Leslie Caryl Matze (Craig), Jamie Sue Bryant, Mardi Robin Ross, her two adopted granddaughters, Telka Marie Ross (Kevin) and Luana Lea Ross, and Grandchildren (predeceased) Cameron Ross, Jason Bailey, Safire (Gauthier) Tremblay (Jeremy), Sam Ross (Sarah), Maxx Ross (Ryan), Morgan Gauthier (Kristin), Denholm Ross, Lazan Gauthier (Jordan), Tavia Ross (Jason), Lewis White (Rachel), Seth Ross, predeceased Pharoh Ross, Great-Grandchildren; Faryn Ross, Sylvia Ross, Heavyn Ross, Brendan Ross, Issac Ross, Symphony Tremblay, Storm Tremblay, Malcolm Keith, Tiana Keith, Shem Tremblay, Asher Tremblay, Jaxon Unruh-Ross, Ezra Tremblay, Danika Unruh-Ross, Enoch Tremblay, Liberty Tremblay, and Blake Tetlock.
