Albert was born in June of 1926 at Scotland and passed away peacefully on August 17, 2011, at Grand Forks. He was 85.

He is lovingly survived by Jean, his wife of 59 years; daughter, Averil (Bob); son, Gary; grandson-in-law Chris (Nikki); three great-grandchildren: Jazzmyn, Jayden and Jaxson; one brother and one sister, both from England; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, one sister, one brother and his only granddaughter.

Albert was a member of the British Army, serving with the King’s Own Scottish Borderers in WWII, attached to the Black Watch. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic at Phoenix and Granisle Mines. Albert was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 59. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the Elks in the past.

Albert enjoyed fishing, curling and golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter and her children.

No service by request. Grand Forks Funeral Home was in care of arrangements.
