Albert George Lucente

Dec. 26, 1920 – March 27, 2017

Albert Lucente passed away on March 27, 2017 with family at his side at the age of 96. He was born on Dec. 26, 1920 in Eholt, B.C. to Antonio and Rachel Lucente. He spent most of his life residing in Greenwood with the exception of the 5 years he spent overseas in the service during WWII.

Albert spent many years as an owner/operator hauling logs in the Boundary Area. In later years he worked as a woods foreman for Boundary Sawmill and Pope & Talbot at their Midway Operation until his retirement.

His hobbies included woodworking and cross stitching. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family, and had a great love for dogs, especially boxers.

Albert will be dearly missed by Nellie, his loving wife of 69 years, son Anthony (Alexa), daughters Darlene, Linda, and Cheryl, grandchildren Stacey and Brent, sister Margaret Horovatin, sister-in-law Edna Talarico, numerous nieces and nephews and his loyal dog Harley.

The family would like to thank our mom for all her loving care and support during his illness. Special thanks to his nephew Bob Smith for his daily visits, to all the home support workers for their excellent care and the staff at Hardy View Lodge for their compassionate care during his brief stay there. There will be no service as per request.
