Adolf John Franz

January 1, 1931 – February 19, 2015

In loving memory of Adolf; husband and father, who passed away at Hardy View Lodge surrounded by his family. Adolf is survived by his wife Shirley and their children Elaine Napier (Craig), Madonna Taylor (Kevin), Paula Franz and Allan Franz, grand children Megan and Derrick. He is also survived by his sister Rosie Plamondon (Denis) and their three sons; David, Chris and Mark and their families, brother-in-laws Bob Johnson (Laura), their children Joe and Susanne and their families, Murray Johnson (Patsy) and their sons David and Michael and their families. His sister-in-laws Donna Balogh (Paul) and their sons Greg and Wayne and their families and Carol Johnson and her sons Bob, Jim and Tony and their families. Adolf was born in Kelowna and met his wife of 60 years, Shirley in Oliver. They married in March 1954 and made Osoyoos their home, during that time their four children were born. In 1970 they moved to Grand Forks and Adolf began his career with Mutual Life of Canada as a life underwriter and financial planner. He enjoyed being a member of the Gyro club of Grand Forks and loved to spend long days golfing with his wife and friends. Most of all Adolf was a fun loving man who loved music, cars, travel and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that he knew and will forever be in our hearts. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Boundary Hospital and the staff at the Hardy View Lodge. In memory of Adolf you are welcome to make a donation to the Pines Bible Camp or the Alzheimers Society of B.C. A private family burial was held at Evergreen Cemetery prior to the memorial service which was held at Gospel Chapel on Monday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Grand Forks Funeral Home gffh@shaw.ca
