B.C. Ambulance Services called police to the scene of a single motor vehicle accident on Dec. 8 at 10:42 a.m. by Lafferty Pit Road and Highway 3 at Christina Lake.

Police attended to find a white Ford pickup truck over the embankment and down a ditch by the s-curve in that location.

Emergency Services had already left the scene so the driver was not found at the scene.

“It appears the vehicle was not driving at a high rate of speed so the driver lost control over icy conditions,” explained Grand Forks RCMP's Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison. “The road condition was black ice.”

There is extensive damage to the front end of the vehicle, as well as damage to the roof due to a possible roll over.

The 60-year-old female driver from Slocan, B.C. suffered a broken right arm.
