According to Grand Forks Fire Rescue chief Dale Heriot, there was a single vehicle rollover 22 km west of Grand Forks.

Grand Forks RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision east of Wilgress Lake by Grand Forks on Dec. 2 at 5:21 p.m.

By the time police arrived, everyone had left the scene and police attended Boundary Hospital to speak with a witness. The witness noted Eholt summit was very slippery and he observed the vehicle, a red 1997 GMC Suburban 4X4, fishtail and go into the ditch.
