With the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary’s (RDKB) Animal Control Bylaw No. 1511 the cause of much discussion, especially dog owners, there will be a town hall meeting at the Seniors’ Centre in City Park on March 19 at 7 p.m.

The meeting will be hosted by the Kootenay Boundary Pet Dog Association, which is concerned about the bylaw.

“Not addressed in the district’s bylaw are inhumane treatment of animals, namely poor food, water, shelter and sanitary conditions,” explained association member Karen McKay.

“No provision is made for boarding, grooming, or training facilities,” she said.

The meeting is open to everyone and will be an opportunity to voice opinions.
