Proposed Midway border closure won’t affect school

Despite recent reports of possible border closures, including one at Midway, B.C., there won't be an impact on Midway Elementary School.

Despite recent reports of possible border closures, including the port of entry in Midway, there will be no impact on Midway Elementary School.

“In the event the border crossing in Midway is closed, the district does not foresee an impact on student enrollment at our schools in Midway,” said School District 51 Superintendent Michael Strukoff in an email.

Midway and Grand Forks schools have several students attending from the state of Washington.
