A possible break-and-enter was reported on March 8 at 2:12 p.m. on Ninth Street in Grand Forks.
Neighbours noticed that the door to a vacant home had been forced open and someone might have been squatting in the house, said Grand Forks RCMP's Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison.
“There was no indication that anything had been stolen but there was a bit of a mess in the house,” he added.
The owners are from out of town and had come to assess the property.
