A vehicle was located upside down on private property up the North Fork.
Cpl. Richard Lanz of the Grand Forks RCMP said the three occupants of the white Toyota Supra walked away from the scene of the crash.
“It’s still being investigated,” Lanz said.
July 18
At around 10:30 p.m. police pulled over a vehicle at a road check at Highway 3 and 8th Street. Police suspected the driver was intoxicated and so screened him.
The 46-year-old Ontario man failed the screening devices and had his car impounded for 30 days, as well as an immediate roadside prohibition (IRP).
At 10:50 p.m. at the same check stop, another vehicle was checked.
“The driver of this vehicle also had an odour of alcohol on his breath,” said Lanz.
The driver was screened and blew a fail. IRP and impound followed for the 25-year-old Grand Forks man.
July 20
At 1:50 a.m. police got a report of a male laying half on the sidewalk and half on the road on the corner of 2nd Street and Highway 3.
“Police attended, located the male who was highly intoxicated and had passed out,” Lanz said. “The male was arrested for being drunk in a public place and was lodged in cells for the evening to sober up.”
July 22
At 9:57 p.m. RCMP received a report of possible impaired driver in the Christina Lake area. The suspected vehicle was a truck pulling a travel trailer.
Police located the vehicle, found the driver had alcohol on his breath and administered a roadside screening. The 44-year-old Lake Country, B.C. man was issued an IRP and had his vehicle impounded for 30 days.
July 23
At 9:35 p.m. police received a report of a male causing a disturbance at the Greyhound bus depot. The male was intoxicated and being very aggressive. The 23-year-old Kelowna man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and lodged in jail for the night. He also received a violation ticket.
July 25
At 8:53 a Dodge pickup was reported to have gone off the road up the North Fork. The driver, a 19-year old Rossland male, and two passengers, a 17-year-old Calgary male, a 20–year-old Turner Valley male suffered only minor injuries. Lanz said RCMP are still investigating the cause.
