POLICE REPORT: Man sustains injuries in deer accident

On Oct. 10, a Toyota Tundra hit a deer on Highway 3 in a collision which caused $5,000 in damage.

Stolen binoculars

On Oct. 10 it was reported a theft from a vehicle had occurred on Oct. 8 between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. A pair of binoculars was stolen from an unlocked truck parked on 2nd Avenue.

Grand Forks RCMP’s Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison would like to remind residents to lock their doors.

Deer causes accident

At 5:17 p.m. that same day, there was a motor vehicle accident that involved a deer. A Toyota Tundra hit a deer on Highway 3 that left $5,000 in damages to the vehicle.

“The driver was a 55-year-old Castlegar male,” said Harrison. “There were minor injuries and he was bruised up a bit.”
