People applaud after beer drinker ticketed at Christina Lake

A 19-year-old Grand Forks male was charged with consuming alcohol in a public place, much to the delight of onlookers at Christina Lake.

On July 7, at 2:40 p.m., police were doing foot patrol at the public beach at Christina Lake when they came across a 19-year-old Grand Forks male drinking beer on the beach while playing Frisbee – he was charged with consuming alcohol in a public place.

Grand Forks RCMP’s Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison said there were a lot of children around at the time and several people applauded after the ticket was issued.
