Motorcyclist dies crossing Paulson Bridge

A 53-year-old Redwater, Alberta man has succumbed to injuries he sustained while crossing the Paulson Bridge, which is located between Christina Lake and Castlegar.

An Aug. 9 motorcycle accident on Hwy 3, just east of the Paulson Bridge, has claimed the life of a 53-year-old man.

According to RCMP, Randall Prockiw of Redwater, Alta. was travelling east and came across the Paulson Bridge into a left-hand curve.

"Prockiw failed to negotiate the curve and went on to the gravel shoulder. (He) tried to regain control of the motorcycle when it hit a large rock in the ditch. The motorcycle then made contact with the rock wall," read a press release.

RCMP say Prockiw was conscious at the scene and was transported to the hospital in Grand Forks but eventually succumbed to his injuries.

The Paulson Bridge is located between Christina Lake and Castlegar.
