IH issues warning over cocaine in Grand Forks laced with fentanyl

Users urged to test their supplies

Interior Health has issued a drug alert for Grand Forks after several samples of cocaine tested positive for fentanyl.

A news release from IH stated poisonings have been reported and are urging cocaine users to test their supply before using. It was not stated how many poisonings had been recorded.

Fentanyl testing strips are available at the Boundary Mental Health and Substance Abuse clinic; 7441 2nd Street. Tanis Carson, a harm reduction worker with ANKORS, also has testing strips and can be contacted via text at 250-444-0334.

ANKORS also does mobile drug testing every first and third Tuesday of every month at the Gospel Chapel, 7048 Donaldson Dr.
