Hundreds of Grand Forks' residents showed up to cheer on Canadian Olympian Clara Hughes as she pulled into Gyro Park.
Hughes has won gold, two silvers, and three bronzes at Winter and Summer Olympics. She is cycling across Canada to raise awareness for mental health issues.
At the event, Mayor Brian Taylor spoke as did Deb Kozak, who spoke about her issues with mental health. After a brief break to re-hydrate, Hughes addressed the crowd and then stayed to sign autographs.
