Hit-and-run on Granby Road in Grand Forks last night

A male was struck by a motorist last night at 8:45 p.m., one kilometre north up Granby Road in Grand Forks, B.C.

A male was struck by a motorist last night at 8:45 p.m. one kilometre north up Granby Road in Grand Forks.

According to Grand Forks RCMP, the male was walking on the side of the road, was hit by the vehicle, thrown 10 metres and suffered bone fractures – the injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The male was said to be wearing dark clothing and walking on an unlit part of the road and the possibility exists that the driver did not see the pedestrian.

According to a press release, arrangements have been made for the male to be transferred to the hospital in Trail for further treatment.

RCMP hope that the driver comes forward but are also seeking the assistance of witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the incident.
