On April 18, a 3.7-metre aluminum boat was stolen from a house on 77th Avenue in Grand Forks.

The theft was reported at 1:34 p.m. and the boat did not have any serial numbers on it; however, it did have a yellow motor mount on the hull.

“It was lying beside the carport at a vacant home and it disappeared,” said Grand Forks RCMP’s Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison. There are currently no witnesses or suspects.

Another aluminum boat went missing a few days later.

A 3.7-metre aluminum boat with a trailer went missing from an address on 78th Avenue on April 20, at 2:14 p.m.

“It’s too much of a coincidence,” said Harrison in regards to two 3.7 metre boats going missing in the same neighbourhood, two days apart.

The boat was a 1970s build with an expired licence plate on the trailer, with the numbers 304580.

“No witnesses or suspects have been identified,” Harrison said.
