Last week, RCMP issued 18 written warnings for boating infractions on Christina Lake.
“For most of them, people are being given time to produce the documents and safety equipment that they are required to have on their boats,” said Harrison.
He added that the local RCMP is very active on the water checking vessels for safety and that will continue throughout the summer.
“The most common problems were, we found people without their registration papers for their vessel, or they don’t have the vessel properly marked, or they’re missing certain safety equipment that they’re required to have such as fire extinguishers, flashlights, baling cans, and that type of thing,” said Harrison
