A post on the Boundary Neighbourhood Watch Facebook page this past Sunday warned of a man on a scooter, exposing himself to some girls in the Ruckle area (Ninth Street) of Grand Forks.

Grand Forks RCMP Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison said that there is a file on the incident but there isn’t much to go on.

“We questioned the young girls, it was 12-and a 13-year-old girls that reported it. They claim that they were standing about (170 metres) away when they saw this male committing an indecent act,” explained Harrison. “Basically at this point, we’re kind of marking it as unsubstantiated because the evidence really doesn’t show that it actually happened.”

Harrison said the descriptions were vague and while RCMP questioned some people, nothing came of it.

“We’re certainly keeping our eyes open. We haven’t had any previous reports of anything similar to that and nothing since that time. It’s one of those ones where something happened … from (170 metres) away it’s a pretty hard thing to say; however, there definitely could be something to it and we’re very mindful to that fact and we’re going to be keeping an eye on that area to see if there’s any other activity of that nature,” Harrison went on to say.
