A federal parolee who went missing from a community-based residential facility in Kamloops could be on his way to Grand Forks.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Andrew Robert Hardenstine, 33, who went missing from a community-based residential facility in Kamloops on Jan. 14.

He was serving a three-year, eight-month sentence on two convictions for Possession of Drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking and a weapons-related offence when he was paroled in January.

"Hardenstine is five foot, nine inches (173 cm) tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds (91 kg). He has a shaved head (brown hair) and blue eyes. The top of his left ring finger and left little finger are amputated and he has a full 'sleeve' tattoo on his left and right arm," RCMP said.

"The Kamloops RCMP believe that Harenstine may have left the central interior and may be headed to the Grand Forks area or to the Lower Mainland, where he is known to have associates involved in the drug subculture."

"Hardenstine has a lengthy criminal record, including incidents of violence against people. Members of the public are cautioned not to approach or apprehend Hardenstine if he is observed," RCMP went on to say.

Anyone with information on his current location can call Grand Forks RCMP at 250-442-8288 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
