There were reports of smoke and fire in the Hardy Mountain area of Grand Forks on the afternoon of Aug. 1 but residents can rest easy.

While people driving by the Donaldson Drive/North Fork Road area may have noticed fire engines parked on the road, there was no fire to be found.

According to Grand Forks Fire Rescue assistant chief Kevin McKinnon, it was much ado about nothing.
