Environment Canada has continued a severe thunderstorm watch for Grand Forks and area, with thunderstorms possible this afternoon.
“An upper disturbance moving across the region will create favourable conditions for thunderstorms to develop today. There is a risk for some storms to become severe with potential to produce large hail, heavy downpour and strong gusty winds this afternoon,” Environment Canada said in a release.
Currently it is 24 C in Grand Forks and a low of 14 C, with a 60 per cent chance of precipitation, is forecast for tonight.
Earlier today, there was lightning and heavy rain in parts of the area.
Environment Canada advises to take immediate safety precautions if threatening weather is approaching.
