Elderly Christina Lake man survives accident

An elderly man that was walking his dog on Larson Road in Christina Lake was struck by a car on Tuesday.

An elderly man was struck by a vehicle on Larson Road at Christina Lake at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 2) morning.

"An 82-year-old male, a resident of Christina Lake, was walking his dog on the road when he was struck by a Mazda 3 operated by a 20-year-old female from Turner Valley, Alta.," said Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison of the Grand Forks RCMP.

Harrison said the male suffered a broken femur, concussion and was still at the hospital in Grand Forks, as of Tuesday morning.

"He was undergoing treatment and being (examined) for further injuries, however he is reported to be in stable condition," he explained.

Harrison said that the matter is still under investigation and charges may be pending.
