Christopher Cusack sees next court date on May 8 in Nelson

The man charged with two counts of arson relating to the Grand Forks and Winnipeg hotel fires, will see his next court date on Tuesday, May 8.

Christopher James Cusack, 47, was remanded into custody for a 30-day psychiatric evaluation on March 20 to determine if he is fit to stand trial.

He appeared at the court in Rossland by video on April 12.

Court services in Rossland said that the evaluation wasn't completed yet, leading to the adjournment until May, which will take place at the court in Nelson, B.C.

Cusack will also appear via video on the May 8 date and remains in custody.
