The Grand Forks Border Bruins had their modest three game unbeaten string snapped at three after losing 6-3 to Beaver Valley at home Saturday night.

Goals from Jeremy Luccini and a second from Boyczuk put the game away for BV, who outshot Grand Forks 52-29.

The Bruins fared much better on Friday in Midway, as they beat Princeton 7-5 at Boundary Expo Arena led by five points from Jackson Purvis.

Purvis and Mitch Pearson gave the Border Bears a 2-0 lead early in the first period, but Princeton found back with three straight to go up 3-2 after one.

Princeton went back up by one with Tyler Ehlers goal at 11:07 of the second period.

Grand Forks then scored four unanswered goals (Connor Gross, Purvis, Nathan Cory and Brandon Savaia) to put the game away.
