On Oct. 3 at 9:39 a.m., there was a break-and-enter into the trash storage area behind the Overwaitea in Grand Forks.

“At this point we are working on a possible suspect,” said Grand Forks RCMP's Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison. “There is another report along the same lines, where we did catch someone doing it, so whether or not it’s the same person in this report, we don’t know yet.”

Harrison referred to another incident on Oct. 6 at 2:27 a.m. when two constables on patrol located a suspect who had also broken into the trash storage compound behind Overwaitea. The constables found the individual inside the storage shed.

“This particular individual has been charged with the same offense in February 2012 and was convicted and sentenced to jail,” Harrison noted. “But obviously he’s back out doing the same thing again. He was arrested and released by a justice of peace on a recognizance of bail here in court in November.”

The charged subject is a 52-year-old Grand Forks resident.
