'Pawty on': Christina Lake celebrates new 'Bark Park'

Dog park marks grand opening with games, cake, wagging tails.

Christina Lake's canine residents, and the humans that love them, had plenty of reasons to celebrate on Saturday with the grand opening of the "Bark Park" behind the community's Welcome Centre on Highway 3. Festivities included raffles, a dog parade, talent show, obstacle course races and "find your owner." The park, a joint funding project with the Phoenix Foundation Neighbourhood Small Grants Boundary, Christina Lake Stewardship Society, CIBC, From the Hearth and Art Design, Inc., officially opened May 1, but this was the grand opening. RDKB Area C-Christina Lake Director Grace McGregor said it was great to see the park opened for both community members and tourists to bring their dogs to play and socialize.
