The celebrated Metis tradition of the kitchen party, where people gather for casual fun, socializing and of course food and music livened up the Grand Forks Senior's Centre on Saturday, with the Boundary Metis Community Association hosting the free event. Those of Metis heritage were welcome to don their sashes, skirts and moccasins and enjoy some cultural entertainment like jigging and spoon-playing, along with some board games and Indigenous trivia. Keeping with being a kitchen party, a potluck-style lunch was on offer for everyone to enjoy.
