Community to honour Lindsay Danchella with memorial walk in Trail

The event is set to begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, starting at the Trail Riverfront Centre

The West Kootenay Region of the BC Nurses Union, led by Tamara Roscoe, has organized a Memorial March in remembrance of Lindsay Danchella.

The event is set to begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, starting at the Trail and District Public Library.

The evening will feature a short march through downtown Trail, followed by speeches and a call to action aimed at addressing violence against women.

The memorial highlights the recent alleged murder of Lindsay Danchella by her ex-husband, Donald Danchella, underscoring the need for systemic change to prevent similar tragedies.

Organizers and Trail council are encouraging community members to participate in the march to raise awareness and remember Lindsay for her vibrant spirit and contributions as an outstanding member of the community.

They hope her story will serve as a catalyst for meaningful action to combat violence and create safer environments for everyone.

The march coincides with the lead-up to the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, observed annually on Dec. 6.
