Christina Lake chills out for Winterfest

Christina Lake welcomes season with games, swimming, art and hiking

Christina Lake got to celebrate Winterfest with actual winter conditions on Saturday, Feb. 2, with a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and plenty of activities inside and out celebrating the season taking place between The Welcome Centre just off Highway 3 and the Community Hall on Park Road.

The day started early with a Polar Plunge open to all, with people wading out in the frigid waters of Christina Lake near the Welcome Centre to retrieve balloons with prize tickets in them. For more outdoor fun, there was an organized hike to Bonanza Pass.

Most of the fun was found in the Welcome Centre, with family games, a raffle and Christina Lake Arts and Artisans Society hosting several art classes for families and adults. Later in the evening was the Snowball Dinner and Dance, with chili and the Baker Street Blues Band.
